These regulations affect all types of ovens, whether it is an electric oven or a gas oven, but single ovens are generally sized around the 600mm point, so they are not particularly always affected by these requirements.
When it comes to freestanding ovens there different regulations and requirements, when it comes to the installation of these ovens. For example, there has to be a distance of 20mm between the oven and the edge of the worktop. There must also be a minimum distance of 150mm between the freestanding oven and the adjacent wall or surface. There must also be a clearance of 610mm above the oven.
Also when it comes to an oven installation, it is very important that you hire a gas safe registered engineer to complete the oven installation, as it is illegal for an engineer that has not been gas safe registered to install a gas oven or appliance of any kind. When it comes to electric ovens, it is advisable to hire an engineer as when it comes to electric oven installations, you cannot use a typical 13A plug, you must use a dedicated cooker/oven point.
